Volunteer Opportunity with Habitat-NYC

We are inviting you to take part in an upcoming volunteer opportunity on June 23. Middle and Fort Washington Collegiate Church serving together with Habitat-NYC on Saturday, June 23rd at the Riverstone Senior Life Services for our Brush with Kindness project.

Brush with Kindness is Habitat-NYC's neighborhood revitalization program, aimed at helping to improve and strengthen the low-income New York City neighborhoods where we build homes. Working with crews of volunteers, the Brush with Kindness program provides minor renovations and repairs to community centers, schools and other facilities serving our homeowner families and their neighborhoods. Volunteers will be prepping, priming, p...ainting and performing touch-up work at the community center. Clean-up is also a part of the day.

Take the A,C, 1 to 168th Street in Manhattan. Exit and walk south on Broadway. Take a right onto W. 164th street. Walk to the end of the block till you hit Fort Washington Ave. End at 99 Fort Washington Ave.

We put in a full day from 9:15am - 4:30pm (please do not arrive earlier than 9:15am as you will not be able to enter the site until then.) Your clothes will get dirty so please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty and close toed sneakers are required. Do not bring any valuables. There will be a water fountain on site, so bring a bottle and coordinate your own lunch.
