Chad Tanaka Pack
Chad Tanaka Pack joined the staff at Middle Collegiate Church in June 2010 and is currently Consulting Minister. Chad is progressing toward ordination in the United Church of Christ. He also serves as Associate in Ministry at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City, and Student Associate for Administration at Community of Reconciliation Church in Pittsburgh.
Chad graduated with a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School in May 2010. He also received a certificate from Yale's Institute of Sacred Music, a multidisciplinary program dedicated to religion and the arts. Chad is a playwright, poet, and performer.
Prior to his ministry studies, Chad worked as a corporate accountant in the financial services industry. He was a Vice President in the Finance Division at Goldman Sachs. Chad graduated cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics. Chad is a certified public accountant in the state of New York.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Chad is a fourth-generation Japanese and Korean American. He has researched and written on a variety of topics related to spirituality of Asia and the Pacific, including the religious experiences of Japanese Americans interned during World War II. Chad is committed to inclusive, multicultural ministries that celebrate the voices of all God's people.
