I agree with the voters. Marriage, according to the Word of God is one man and one woman.

I think it is sad that some Americans continue to legislate the freedom of their fellow men and women. That being said I also believe it is everyone's responsibility to tell those they love that they do not agree with homophobia and wish for a world that is safe and free for all of God's people.

It is their right to vote as they see fit. It is our duty to acknowledge, and respect their choice.

Love is love whether it is between a man and a woman, a woman and a woman, or a man and a man.

While I respect a person's right to vote their conscious on any issue, I think certain issues shouldn't be left up to a popular vote. No civil right issue that deals with the rights and responsibilities of a minority should be left to a majority vote.
Almost no civil right would have been passed in this country via a vote at the polls. The majority of the country was against inter-racial marriage, and it took a Supreme Court decision to undo discriminatory laws, not a majority vote. Now it seems like archaic, close minded thinking, but at the time it was the majority standard, civilly AND religiously.

Equal rights should not be a vote, it should be a law. We've seen this over and over in American history. So long as no others' rights are impaired by doing so, we should never prohibit one's right to the pursuit of happiness. America has a pretty important document that says so.
Besides, I'm still waiting for someone - anyone - to answer a question I've had for years: defend marriage from what?
