Our gospel choir is gloriously diverse in skin tone and style. Our committed group of singers come from around the world. Started in 1986, it serves as a multicultural testament to our church today.

The Middle Church Jerrise Johnson Gospel Choir is recognized as a pre-eminent multicultural gospel choir with an eclectic range of songs. Recent appearances include the "Today Show" on NBC, "Good Morning America" on ABC and the UK Show "Sunday Night Project" on Channel 4. 

Our gospel choir usually sings twice a month at Middle Church and makes special appearances at various events around town and the country, including the East Village's Howl Fest, a play reading with Danny Glover and in churches throughout the city.  The Gospel Choir also toured throughout New Orleans bringing a ray of sunshine to damaged and dispirited souls.   Check out photos of our Gospel Choir and their performance on the Today Show in our Media Library on this site.  Inside Middle/Media Library.
