As we mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King, our nation’s leading civil rights activists and faith leaders gathered for the conference, Revolutionary Love: Complete the Dream. Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Ruby Sales, Rev. Dr. William Barber, Sister Simone Campbell, Rev. Brian McLaren, Valarie Kaur, Stosh Cotler, Rev. Traci Blackmon and Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis were among the confirmed speakers. As we seek to work against racism, poverty and militarism, we need Beloved Community and practical tools to create a more perfect union. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Watch videos from the conference.

About the Revolutionary Love Conference:

Congregational leaders need tools in order to fulfill the prophetic mandate to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. How do work for the Reign of God on earth? Middle Church partners with The Middle Project, an institute that trains leaders for a just society, to offer a conference each April for leaders in multicultural and multiracial congregations and contexts.

Past conferences have addressed issues such as the power of story to train leaders, the use of artistic worship to create multiracial communities, training leaders to manage change and conflict, analyzing the dynamics of race, gender, class and power, and the connections between faith, justice and the economy. One hundred leaders from many denominations journey annually to Middle Church to engage in interactive learning in a supportive and creative environment. Faculty has included Melissa Harris-Perry, Macky Alston, Diana Butler Bass, Miguel de la Torre, Curtiss De Young, James Forbes, Gary Dorrien, Eric Law, Kathy LeMay, Jacqui Lewis, Barbara Lundblad, Ivan Petrella, and Traci West.

Archives of past conferences are available on the Middle Project website
