"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
Pastoral staff are available for individual, couple and family pastoral counseling on an as-needed basis. Care is limited to 6 sessions and if additional support is required, referrals will be made either to a Stephen Minister or appropriate outside agency.
Anyone requesting assistance will meet with Dr. Heather Juby, Minister for Congregational Care. Dr. Juby will help you decide on the most appropriate source of care, and can help you find outside referrals for psychotherapy, Christian counseling or psychiatric medication if requested.
MiddleCares is a part of the overall Care and Counseling Ministry at Middle Church.
MiddleCares provides care and fosters a sense of community among Middle members through various “inreach” functions. It acknowledges selected celebratory occasions such as births/adoptions, graduations, and marriages/unions in the lives of members. MiddleCares also helps to welcome new members.
MiddleCares delivers baskets to the homebound during Thanksgiving and Christmas and sends cards and notes of support and encouragement to people in need. The group also helps organize selected special events and prays for members who have requested prayer. MiddleCares members also act as referral agents to Stephen Ministers if they notice a need for more intensive or continued care.
MiddleCares does not require any formal membership process. The group sponsors a table in the Social Hall before worship on Sundays. Any member is invited to visit the table to submit a care need, help address care needs, or just to have coffee and chat!
