Middle welcomes into its membership people of various talents, experiences, backgrounds, ages, races, sexual orientations and cultures.
This diversity is regarded as a great asset to the church!
Why? Because this is a reflection of God's reign!
If you say Middle Church is your church then it is. And if you have been wondering when you can officially join Middle, now is the time.
We do not all think or act alike, nor do we all seek fulfillment of the same spiritual needs. We value and respect our differences and, within an environment of openness and tolerance, seek to express our diversity creatively in worship, community, thought and service as we address the needs of our congregation, neighborhood, city, and world. Our diversity assumes that God speaks to all of us in different ways and in community, we can hear God more fully.
Who are Middle people? We are people of all ages, looking for community, a place to belong, to feel accepted, to share friendship and celebrate the benefits of diversity. We are people with AIDS, people in recovery, people seeking spirituality, gay men and lesbian women. We are a racial and ethnic mix and people who want a relevant Christian faith with meaningful choices and options.
At Middle we believe God's gracious Spirit knows no boundaries or barriers and is poured out on all people welcoming all into full membership and active participation in the life and ministry of the church.
