| Sunday Worship Sunday worship celebrations are held at both 9 AM and 11:15 AM (in the autumn, winter and spring) and 11:15 AM during the summer in the beautifully restored sanctuary located on Second Avenue near 7th Street in the heart of the East Village..
Along with the sermon, worship celebrations may include music by the exceptional Middle Church Choir; traditional and contemporary hymns and spirituals; prayers; biblical readings; passing the peace; Communion on designated Sundays; the exciting Jerriese Johnson East Village Gospel Choir; Children's Choirs; a variety of instrumentalists, dance and theatre; jazz, gospel and classical music; visual art, and a host of special musical and choral presentations.
Child Care is available during the celebration, as is the Children's Worship Theater for all ages.
Following worship, there is a Friendship Hour and often Sunday Brunches in the Social Hall. At times there will be music, an exhibit, opportunities for social action, or topical and timely presentations.
The Seventh and Second Photo Gallery graces the Hall with continuous shows by a variety of guest photographers.
Throughout the year a selection of Adult Bible study and discussion groups are offered on Sundays, before and after the celebration. We also offer workshops, conferences, and retreats and outings in the country.
