Middle invites you to join us for a brand new series: For the Love of Black Stories, in honor of Sir Sidney Poitier. Each week in Black History Month, we’ll come together on Monday night to watch a different Poitier film. Whether you’ve seen all his movies several times or if this is your first introduction, you’ll be sure to come away with a renewed respect and appreciation for one of our country’s greatest actors.
After the screening, each week’s host will lead a discussion, both providing some historical context for the art itself and reflecting on its present implications. So come for groundbreaking cinema, and stay for conversation just as sparkling. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this program will be held entirely online.
