Vigil for Middle Facade

10:00 a.m. – Press Conference | 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. All Day Vigil | 3:30 p.m. – Special Children’s Moment
On Monday, November 20, construction teams will begin to demolish the Middle Church facade, the only part of the sanctuary left standing after a six-alarm fire spread from a nearby building on Dec. 5, 2020. While this is a moment of communal grief, it will also clear the way for Middle to build a new sanctuary, as our community continues to rise.
From 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Middle staff and clergy will be available at the corner of 2nd Ave. & 7th St. to grieve, pray, and talk about our vision for the future. At 10:00 a.m. ET, Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis will host a press conference where she describes the next step in Middle’s rebuilding. At 3:30 p.m., we will host an organized vigil, centering children and families but open to all, to hold all the feelings this moment brings.
