Juneteenth Worship Celebration | June 19 | 10:00 AM EST
June 19 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Scripture: Galatians 3:23-29
Sermon: “Faith. Family. Freedom.” by Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis
Join us in-person at East End Temple (245 E 17th St, New York, NY 10003) for our a special Juneteenth worship celebration! To join us online on Facebook, YouTube or our homepage, attend the 11:45 a.m. ET worship celebration. Since we anticipate a large turnout and people will be seated on a first-come, first-sat basis, we will also offer a 11:45 a.m. ET worship celebration. However, consider attending this worship since it will likely be less crowded than 11:45!
Every Sunday, we are bow in in-person/online hybrid worship. Before you come in-person, please read the list of policies our COVID task force has put together to keep us safe. But we are so delighted to be worshipping in our new home at East End Temple, streamed into homes around the country and the world.
We are leaning into “HYBRID worship” as the name for worship that is both online and in person. Click here to read an op-ed by Senior Minister Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis about our commitment to online worship and programs. And worship will always be hybrid! If you’re interested in another online opportunity, consider joining Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and Rev. Benjamin Perry for Pray to Rise online every Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. ET.
Our liturgy and worship will feel familiar in form, but you will be surprised by creative sermons that will provoke your mind and stir your soul. You will also be surprised by the extensive use of the arts in worship. Our music—gospel, spirituals, stunning choral singing and classical music, and everything from Bach to Broadway to the Beatles—will encourage your toes to tap and your heart to soar. Our virtual sanctuary holds not only our incredible cultural and ethnic diversity, but dance, puppet theater, the dramatic and visual arts, and our diverse expressions of faith.
