SUMMARY:Voter Reform Group
DESCRIPTION:A strong democracy depends on civic engagement and a commitment to pluralism. We come together every other week to learn\, discuss\, and share our individual perspectives on elections and political issues affecting our communities and nation. Importantly\, we use this group to take action. We register new voters and mobilize voters for every election. We encourage members to become poll workers and monitors\, and to take action on voting rights and other justice issues. We engage in nonpartisan postcard writing campaigns to encourage people to vote and remove any financial barrier so that all citizens can equally participate. Together\, we send thousands of cards and letters and amplify our impact. Join us bi-weekly on Sundays at 10am-11am to mobilize. \nClick here to RSVP and receive Zoom information for our next meeting. \nTo join the team\, contact votingproject@middlechurch.org.

SUMMARY:Stories That Heal
DESCRIPTION:An MLK Day Event | Soul Work for Justice in a Time of Trauma \nHow are we caring for our hearts in this moment of collective trauma? \nFollowing worship on MLK Day\, join Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and children’s book authors Jamia Wilson\, Fabienne Doucet and William Electric Black for an intergenerational anti-racism training rooted in storytelling\, spirituality\, and soul work. Together\, we will explore how stories help us name pain\, heal across generations\, and practice justice in ways that are honest\, hopeful\, and life-giving. \nThis gathering is designed for adults\, youth\, and families\, creating space for shared learning and reflection across ages. A special appearance by Bernard in the City will offer a creative\, child-centered way to engage themes of justice and care\, making this a meaningful experience for parents and children alike. \nSunday\, January 18 | 1:00 PMMiddle ChurchLearn more at middlechurch.org
