She is Professor of Theology at Earlham School of Religion and has written or edited more than two dozen books on theology\, race\, gender\, Asian American experience\, the Holy Spirit\, and justice. Her recent works include When God Became White\, Invisible\, Hope in Disarray\, and Earthbound.
