DESCRIPTION:The Village Chorus for Children and Youth at Middle Church is a program that educates children about the significance of community engagement in promoting racial\, LGBTQIA+\, and economic equality through music. Participants learn a diverse repertoire\, including pieces from Beethoven\, the Beatles\, and Broadway\, which helps them build confidence and receive support from the congregation. The chorus performs monthly during worship services and has showcased their talents at venues like Joe’s Pub at The Public\, The Lower Eastside Girls Club\, and the New York Public Library. \nRehearsals are conducted via in-person on Sundays from 1:00 to 2:15 pm. \nWhile there is no cost to join\, children should have a passion for music\, a strong desire to learn\, and the ability to read. \nFor more information or to join\, interested individuals can contact the director\, John Del Cueto.

DESCRIPTION:The New York Conference of the UCC denomination is planning to cover the state of New York with prayer shawls this year. We have until the top of June next year to crochet\, kit\, or sew as many as we can. We can then decide where we would like to donate them. \nYou can crochet/knit/sew on your own and just keep Rev. Natalie updated with pics or a count of how many you have done. If you don’t live in New York\, you can either mail them to me at Middle or you can give them away to folks or organizations in your area. DESCRIPTION:A strong democracy depends on civic engagement and a commitment to pluralism. We come together every other week to learn\, discuss\, and share our individual perspectives on elections and political issues affecting our communities and nation. Importantly\, we use this group to take action. We register new voters and mobilize voters for every election. We encourage members to become poll workers and monitors\, and to take action on voting rights and other justice issues. We engage in nonpartisan postcard writing campaigns to encourage people to vote and remove any financial barrier so that all citizens can equally participate. Together\, we send thousands of cards and letters and amplify our impact. This is a drop-off opportunity for caregivers\, but you are welcome to stay as your child adjusts. Worship is streamed in the room. \nEvery Sunday — Starting December 7Just Love Kids | 3rd–8th Grade | 3rd Floor StudioChildren are invited to go upstairs after the Message for All Ages. They may walk with Lisette after the message or meet her directly in the studio.If there is no Message for All Ages\, children can join the studio at 12:00 PM. They will be brought back to the sanctuary during the closing hymn\, communion\, or whenever instructors feel it is a meaningful moment for them to rejoin worship. \nEmail Rev.
