Cancer Support Group – Informational Session

August 11, 2026 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us for Middle Church’s first Cancer Support Group meeting, facilitated by Monique Fortuné. This gathering will be a safe and compassionate space for:

  • Individuals currently navigating cancer challenges
  • Survivors walking in healing and strength
  • Family members and loved ones offering support

Together, we’ll explore ways to empower one another through community, health, and wellness resources. Our vision is to create a space of hope, encouragement, and practical support — mind, body, and spirit.

Highlights include:

  • Building a supportive community of care
  • Sharing stories of resilience and healing
  • Offering health and wellness resources (including speakers and a resource folder)

This first session will introduce the mission and vision of the group, with opportunities to share ideas for future gatherings.

As a breast cancer survivor, Monique gives thanks for remission and the gift of early detection — and hopes this ministry will encourage others to stay as healthy as possible through awareness, resources, and mutual care.

We believe in the power of Love. Period.

Through Love, we are each created in God’s image and filled with the Divine Spark. No matter whom we love, no matter how we look, no matter where we are on our journey, God’s imprint is in every person of every race/ethnicity, every gender, and every sexual orientation. We believe God speaks many languages and is calling us on many paths to peace—Shalom. We believe that Love put on flesh—brown, poor, Jewish baby flesh—and came to live among us. We believe God lives among us still; we are the living body of Christ. We are the hands, feet, and heartbeat of God. We believe the Spirit of God calls us to freedom, and we are not free until all of us are free.
