We are THRILLED to offer our annual *FREE week of summer camp! Freedom Summer Camp is focused on Justice, Activism and the Arts where we explore collective liberation and dream together for a better tomorrow. Though camp is hosted by Middle, Judson and Trinity Lower East Side Churches, it is a secular camp and no religious affiliation or experience is necessary — diversity of thought and experience is encouraged.
What: Freedom Summer Camp 2026
Who: Children and Youth Entering K-Entering 8th Grade. We will have two tracks, elementary and middle!
When: Monday, August 31st – Friday, September 4th
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM**
Where: 50 East 7th St, New York, NY 10003
**Camp ends at 12:00 on Friday, September 4th, and parents and guardians are invited for a closing camp celebration and lunch at that time. We will be done by 1:30 PM so if you have plans for the long Labor Day weekend you can begin early.
IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD, PLEASE FILL OUT A FORM FOR EACH CHILD.

*While camp remains free, we are asking for a $25.00 camp deposit to ensure your child’s place and to offset supply fees. Families with more than one camper pay a maximum of $40.00. To reserve your camper’s spot, please venmo @MiddleChurch with the amount, and in the note put the camper’s name and Freedom Summer 2026. Alternatively, you can go to www.middlechurch.org/donate, put the amount, and in the memo write the camper’s name and Freedom Summer Camp. We do not want anyone to miss out on camp because of the supply fee. Please email ahashcraft@middlechurch.org for financial assistance.
Because we know that we all have food preferences, we ask that you please send your camper with a lunch. Our team will provide snacks and water to supplement.
Please register by Sunday, July 12th to secure a spot with our camp. Spots are limited to 50 participants, and we expect to fill up quickly. You will receive confirmation of placement once your deposit and registration are complete no later than 2 weeks after registering. Final camp details, daily schedule, and workshop facilitator bios will be sent early August.
NY COVID protocols will be in place and subject to change at any time. All volunteers will be vaccinated and background checked.
