Happy Sunday, Middle!

I pray this email finds you as well as can be as we near the end of the first month of the year. (How are we here already??)

Today we’ll continue the conversation about love in action. What does it look like? In our pericope for today, I am particularly drawn to a line about chosenness. We serve and worship a God who is constantly choosing us, reaching out to us, loving us. How do we do this in our own lives?

This is the importance of community. You see it modeled by those around you. Others see it modeled in you. We share how we do this in our lives and we learn from each other. Today, we do that by continuing at 10:00 am ET, the [important conversation] Revs. Amanda and John started last week. We do this by having Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas preach this morning at 11:45 and 3pm. We do this by [holding a conversation] on Tuesday with me and Jacqui. We hope to see you today and later this week.

We’ve got work to do indeed. But it’s only doable together.

See you at church,

Rev. Natalie Renee Perkins

Executive Minister for Digital Church

We believe in the power of Love. Period.

Through Love, we are each created in God’s image and filled with the Divine Spark. No matter whom we love, no matter how we look, no matter where we are on our journey, God’s imprint is in every person of every race/ethnicity, every gender, and every sexual orientation. We believe God speaks many languages and is calling us on many paths to peace—Shalom. We believe that Love put on flesh—brown, poor, Jewish baby flesh—and came to live among us. We believe God lives among us still; we are the living body of Christ. We are the hands, feet, and heartbeat of God. We believe the Spirit of God calls us to freedom, and we are not free until all of us are free.
