Welcoming Migrants to NYC
In the past two years, governors from other states have shipped more than 70,000 migrants to New York City. Many people are sent with only the clothes on their backs, some need immediate medical treatment, most have no place to stay when they arrive. Middle and other faith communities around the city have been working with our government to help provide desperately-needed humanitarian aid, to give our newest neighbors the welcome they deserve.
Below is a summary of information Rev. Amanda Hambrick Ashcraft presented to at a congregational meeting. (Click here for a minutes and resources from that gathering.) If you would like to get more involved with Middle’s migrant aid efforts, the best way to start is to email Amanda.
